Criteria for listing items in Clarke Monthly’s Free Monthly Calendar

Calendar Listings are for items of public interest. Content is included is based on available
space and is at the discretion of the editor.

Generally content is prioritized in the following order.

• Community events that are free and open to the public.
• Non-profit events that are free or for fundraising purposes.
• Special events of an arts and entertainment nature that are free, non-profit, or otherwise.
• As space allows we may include events that are hosted by our advertisers based on similar criteria as above.

If you have information to submit for inclusion in our calendar please send it, in the specified format, to Rebecca@clarkeva.com.

Your email subject line should read “Month/year Calendar item”.

Deadline for calendar entries is the first of each month. Each month’s calendar covers events from the 15th of that month through the 15th of the following month.* Events that are in the beginning of any given month should be included in the calendar of the prior month.

Please submit your calendar entry in the following format.

Month, Date, Title in two to three words
Rest of title if needed. Location. Address. Times. One to four or five sentences describing the event details. Price information. Contact information.

For example:

May 31 5k Color Fun Run
Clarke County Parks and Recreation, 225 Al Smith Circle, Berryville. Clarke County Education Foundation, in partnership with CCPS and CCPR hosts the first ever “Color Me Clarke 5k Fun Run”. This is NOT a certified course; it’s about FUN. 7:30am check- in/packet pickup. Race waves begin at 9. $30 prior to event. $35 day of the event. DJ and lots of fun events after the race. June 6 Moto Moto Marimba Band
Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville. Doors open at 7:30pm. Show starts at 8. Moto Moto Marimba is a dynamic group of musicians performing Shona songs from Zimbabwe. Moto is a Shona word meaning fire. Just like fire, Moto Moto Marimba music’s hot rhythms compel you to get up and shine on the dance floor.
